Young mother Annelisa Grace-Betterman is Graced as a Locator, meaning she can find people by listening for their heartbeats. When her infant son is kidnapped from her hospital room, she uses her Grace to find him, then hurries into hiding with her sister, Eleanor, a Securer, who has found them a safe house in St. Augustine Beach. The reason for the kidnapping becomes clear ' the kidnappers believed the child was a Midasian Multiplyer, capable of Multiplying wealth but the action does not end there. Graced 1943 is the first book in the Grace Family Chronicles, which is written much like a soap opera. The cast is large, and there are multiple plot lines, many of which focus on the characters' involvement in the war. Be prepared for a cliffhanger ending.
